G7 S.P.O.TPrivacy Policy
Effective October 1 2026
This policy explains what information the G7 S.P.O.T app ("the app") uses, why, and who it is shared with. The app is published by William Weber ("we", "us"). The short version: there are no accounts, no ads, and no tracking, and your rifle data never leaves your device.
Information stored on your device only
Rifle profiles, load data, calibration results, stages, and app settings are stored locally on your device. We do not receive or store this data. Deleting the app deletes it.
Location
When you request weather data, the app uses your device's precise location to retrieve current atmospheric conditions (temperature, pressure, humidity, and wind) for ballistic calculations. Your coordinates are sent to our weather service, hosted on Cloudflare, which forwards them to our weather data provider, Tomorrow.io. To limit repeated requests, weather results are cached for up to 10 minutes keyed to approximate coordinates (rounded to about 100 meters). Location is not linked to your identity, is not used for advertising or tracking, and is not otherwise retained by us. Location is only accessed while the app is in use and only if you grant permission, which you can revoke at any time in iOS Settings.
The app may also read your device's compass to capture direction of fire. This reading stays on your device.
Bluetooth
If you connect a Bluetooth wind meter, the app receives wind speed, wind direction, and battery readings directly from the device. This data is processed on your device and is not sent to us.
Subscriptions and purchases
Purchases are processed by Apple. We never see your name, email, or payment details. We use RevenueCat, a subscription management service, to verify your subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-generated identifier and your purchase history for this app, as described in RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Technical information
Like any internet service, our weather service receives your IP address when the app makes a request. It is used to prevent abuse (rate limiting) and may appear in short-term operational logs kept by our hosting provider, Cloudflare. We do not use it to identify you.
What we don't do
We do not sell or rent personal information, show ads, use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, or track you across other apps and websites.
Children
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices
You can use the app without granting location access by entering weather conditions manually. You can revoke location or Bluetooth permission at any time in iOS Settings, and delete all locally stored data by deleting the app.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date above.
